“Hogbottom Pop. 265” is a horror tinged, satrical, artist coming of age story. I intend it to be relatable to artists, musicians or anyone who hangs up their razzle dazzle dreams in order to work for “the man”. Emmett Bindle ,small town teenager, sells his soul to the devil dreaming to escape his hometown and pursue his dreams of becoming a renowned artist in the big city. A boiler plate "monkeys paw" narrative about what one can or should sacrifice to succeed. It's "Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas" meets "Faust", but maybe meaner. It's like them if they were written by a "Smart Ass" as Nana used to say.
